A Tale of Why the Leaves Turn Color in Fall

A Tale of Why the Leaves Turn Color in Fall

by Sharon McCann

Jason and Eric are two brothers who look forward to visiting their grandma in the country, enjoying her homemade cookies and adventure stories that have been handed down over the generations from the local people in the area. It was on one of their visits to their grandma’s house that they observed the local squirrels preparing for the onset of Fall and Winter and noticed that the trees by her window changed color from green to glorious reds, yellows, and oranges.

As the two boys continued to watch, some of these same leaves began to fall, floating silently to the ground. It was then that Jason asked his grandma, “Do you know why some trees’ leaves turn from green in summertime to different colors in the Fall and then they don’t have any leaves in the wintertime?”

Grandmother replied, “Well, I remember one tale the old folks would tell, explaining why the leaves turn color in fall,” and began to tell the boys A Tale of Why the Leaves Turn Color in Fall.

Please come and join Jason and Eric and listen to this delightful tale as told by their grandma to them.
